The beach sand near water is wet and dense; so walking on this part of beach does not require much effort. It is very relaxing and enjoyable to walk bare-footed on the wet sand.
As you move away from the water, the sand becomes dry, coarse, less dense, and hot. Walking on this part of the beach requires considerable effort because the sand is coarse and the feet can go inside the pile of loosely bound sand. It is a good exercise for the muscles in calf, thigh, abdomen, and waist regions of the body. You can burn good amount of calories by walking on this part of the beach having coarse sand. Also, this sand is devoid of water from the sea and gets heated by the Sun. So when you walk, your feet also get the warmth from the sand, thereby giving your feet heat treatment in addition to acupressure.
